GBR Recruitment Ltd are recruiting for an experienced Lean Process Engineer (SQDCP) to work for our clients leading Design, Engineering & Manufacturing facility to come in & analyse the current operations working processes & working practices (operations analysis of safety, quality, costs & overheads, manning levels, product delivery performance, project build hours, lost hours in manufacturing & overall efficiencies) with the primary focus on ensuring the engineered / manufactured build process from start to finish is carried out in the most LEAN / Qualify focused way OTIF delivering customer satisfaction & achieving business goals (KPI’s, cost control measures, product mark up margins, revenue figures & reduced waste).
Additionally to the above key functions, you will also support NPD, EPD & NPI to continually drive new product innovation & allowing the business to stay one step ahead of the competition on on trend.
Your technical & tactical mindset will be thinking; reduced costs, reduced waste, reduced faults, increased efficiencies, increased output, increased revenue / margin, sustainability, modern techniques & methods, CI, LEAN & Change (for the better).
Lean Process Engineering Duties:
Creation, execution & delivery of improvement / CI projects (SQDCP).
Operations Analysis – Hours, lost time, quality data, etc.
Sourcing performance information from various department heads & updating daily figures / KPI’s / MI on to the SQDCP boards in the factory (visual display boards).
Implementation of the new operational standards & working processes (standardised work, visual boards management, parts management, training / skills / upskilling, tooling / equipment / machinery & more).
Supporting & advising internal departments across Moulding, Parts procurement & Assembly manufacturing, plus the wider business.
Supporting NPD, EPD & NPI launches.
Monitoring production line performance, through operational reviews & operations audits / analysis.
Ideal Attributes of the Lean Process Engineer:
Qualified in LEAN, Six Sigma or similar within an Engineering role.
Experienced in SQCDP & reporting / presenting this information.
Used to supporting NPD, EPD & NPI as well as CI (continuous improvements) & Zero Waste targets (or as near as Zero).
Strong in Engineering & Manufacturing processes.
Strong in Project Engineering & Project Management.
Strong in Production / Engineering Operations Analysis, Auditing & Reporting.
Strong in producing KPIs & MI.
Intermediate or Advanced in Excel.
Ideally from Automotive, Construction Plant Machinery, Specialist Vehicles, Specialist Machinery, Rail, Aerospace or similar complex builds involving DFM.
