A very rare, exciting opportunity has arisen for a Manhole Surveyor, and we would love to hear from you! Experience is not necessary as full training will be provided however, due to the nature of the role, there will be heaving lifting of Manhole Covers and access to enclosed/small spaces (this training will also be given). The role is based in Bury St Edmunds working between the hours of 18.00pm and 4.00am Monday to Thursday. All accommodation and expenses are included. Staying away from home every week is expected. Ideally, you will also need to hold full UK Driving Licence as part of the requirements of the role. The main duty is to be part of a two-person team, preparing and providing safe work sites for team partner completing manhole structural surveys on the Openreach Network, all over the UK. You will play a crucial role in assessing the condition, structural integrity, and functionality of manholes, providing accurate and comprehensive data to our stakeholders. Your work will contribute to the development of maintenance plans, infrastructure improvements, and regulatory compliance. • Confined space, SA002, NRSWA unit 2 SLG training will be given. • Typically: arrive on site, set up chapter eight (signing lighting and guarding) pump out manhole then surveyor completes the survey taking photos and measurements and checking for any damage or remedial work that requires attention. • Ability to problem solve and identify the solution with attention to detail is another key ability within this position. A full understanding of Health and Safety guidelines along with key quality standards must be demonstrated under this position. You will be required to fulfil any responsibilities allocated to you by job title or specific health and safety role as set out in the Organisational Section of the Company Health and Safety Policy required under Section 2(3) of the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974, and to abide by the standards set out. As the Manhole Surveyor your duties & responsibilities will be: Interpret design schematics, Maps, and works instructions. Working in challenging and varied field environment. Ability to understand and produce records, daily work logs, data recording and update geographical network maps. Adhere to all Health & Safety, Quality, and Environmental policies. Ability to deliver exceptional customer service. Adhere to Quality Standards. An understanding of the BT network. Provide excellent customer service to both client and end user.
