Materials Handler

Due to expansion a fast-growing manufacturing business, located in central Warwickshire is looking for an additional Materials Handler to join its team. The company produces high quality, UK grown food and animal feed. The facility is powered by renewable energy and their production methods result in zero waste.Full training will be provided to ensure you are proficient in your duties, to ensure daily material handling requirements, product loading and movements for the Crushing and Refining Plant and the Wood Yard are all achieved in a safe and efficient manner and in compliance with company and regulatory standards (Quality, Environmental, Health and Safety) and industry accreditations (BRC and FEMAS).As a Materials Handler you will be trained to handle the following materials:

• Finished edible oils in bulk or packaged form
• Animal feed in bulk form
• Waste and by-products such as ash, spent clay, soaps etc.
• Bulk chemicals and packaging materials
• Wood residues and arbs as supplied to the Biomass Power Plant

Other duties will include: –

• Simple maintenance on mobile plant and equipment, as needed
• Taking samples of materials being handled as needed by the business
• Reporting and recording of product movements around the site as required
• Maintaining the hygiene requirements for the product loading areas
• Assisting the Maintenance and Process Technicians in the event of plant/process failure

To be a successful Materials Handler you will have:

• Previous work experience in a processing and/or manufacturing environment in a product handling role
• A recognised valid UK Driving Licence and a qualification / licence for the operation of Front-End Loader and/or Forklift Telehandler (further training will be provided if required)
• Ability to perform in demanding production environment and sufficiently self-motivated to bring value to the business
• Good communication and English language skill
• Capable of working in a production site environment involving stairs, rung ladders and some high-level work areas
• Demonstrated ability to work well in a small team
• Eligible to work in the UK without restriction

Please note: This role is in a rural location, without access to public transport. It will require working in an agricultural environment, with exposure to wheat, grain dust and other allergens. This role is part of the logistics team reporting to the principal Product Handler and will be working 40 hours per week.
