Mental Health and Behaviour Support – Specialist School Alternative Provision – Woodeaton, Oxford- KS1 to KS4 students ASAP Start – £75-£85 per day Would you like to support young people who are at-risk of criminal or anti-social behaviour? Or do you have previous experience working with challenging behaviour? Are you interested in promoting young people’s Mental Health? A fantastic Alternative Provision in Woodeaton, Oxford is currently recruiting for a Mental Health and Behaviour Support to join them ASAP. The alternative provision cater for children and young adults who have been excluded from mainstream education or are in a transition period before finding a place in a specialist setting. Many of the students have experience trauma, have SEN, behavioural disorders as well as other mental health issues. The role will involve mentoring, teaching and supporting young people who are struggling to access education. This is an exciting opportunity for a graduate or experienced teaching assistant to develop their experience with Special Educational Needs and Behavioural Needs. A graduate with a degree graded 2:2 or above is ideal for this role and some previous experience working with SEN children is desirable. This Mental Health and Behaviour Support position will be working 1:1 with pupils with Special Needs and Challenging Behaviour in the school. The Mental Health Mentor will have the opportunity to work closely with children who have mental health difficulties, display challenging behaviour and have learning disabilities such as Autism. Degrees of particular interest would include Psychology and Criminology backgrounds. This SEN school are looking for a confident, dedicated Mental Health and Behaviour Support Assistants who are enthusiastic and passionate about their input into a child’s education. Ideally, the successful SEN Teaching Assistant will have excellent behaviour management skills and desirably some form of restraint training.
