Contract: Full-time, 6-month fixed-term contract with the possibility of extension working with one or more other Dioceses from early 2024
Location: Based at Church House Guildford, Surrey, GU2 7YF
The Diocese of Guildford has an exciting opportunity for a programme manager with a strong working knowledge of current environmental and climate change issues to join our team as Net-Zero Carbon Programme Manager. The main areas of responsibility of the role include:
• Good governance of the Net Zero Carbon programme.
• Effective delivery of the programme
• Strategic relationship development and management
• Identifying new sources of funding and supporting funding applications.
As a new role for the Diocese, the Net-Zero Carbon Programme Manager will play a vital role in supporting us as we implement the Net Zero Strategy by 2030 across our 159 parishes, 220 centrally maintained houses, the diocesan office, and 83 Church Schools, while linking to the Net Zero governance group.
Candidates must have a working knowledge of current environmental and climate change issues and experience of identifying net carbon zero solutions. Candidates must also have strong knowledge of programme and project management techniques, including risk and a proven track-record of successfully delivering complex multi-stakeholder projects. Candidates must have excellent oral and written communications skills to ensure credible and effective working relationships with diverse stakeholders.
