Network Engineer

A significant permanent opportunity has become available for a Network Engineer to join a large, well established organisation.

From an experience perspective they are looking for a minimum of 3 years’ experience working within a network support role.

Essential skills:

• Strong knowledge of networking protocols such as TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, BGP and OSPF.
• Skilled in configuring and maintaining Routers, Switches, Firewalls and application delivery controllers (CISCO, Juniper, Kemp, Fortinet)
• Good knowledge of VPNs and encryption technologies.
• Experience with network monitoring and management tools, such as Wireshark, Icinga, Grafana and SolarWinds.
• Familiarity with cloud computing and virtualization platforms, such as AWS, Azure, VMware and Hyper V.
• Experienced with highly available and secure Data Centre network design/management.
• Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot complex network issues within secure environments.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with colleagues, clients, and vendors.
• Working on Projects and delivering against milestones and timelines.
• 3-5 Years’ experience in the design/support of networks and associated infra-structure.
