Central Queensland Mental Health, Alcohol and Other Drugs Service (CQMHAODS)
CQMHAODS provides specialist mental health, substance and alcohol related care to residents of Rockhampton, Yeppoon, Gladstone, Biloela, Moura, Woorabinda and Central Highlands districts and adult patients of the Central West Hospital and Health Service (catchments in excess of a population of 250,000).
Rockhampton is the principal service centre for this area and as such provides the medical coverage, professional supervision, and administration of the _Mental Health Act, 2016_, support for accreditation and implementation of programs as well as acute inpatient facilities for the Central Queensland Mental Health teams.
The Opportunity
Lead and manage a multidisciplinary Mental Health Team within an integrated service and to provide advanced clinical leadership and expertise in strategic, operational and human resource management utilising a well-developed level of clinical knowledge, problem solving skills and experience of complex contemporary clinical practice standards to ensure optimal clinical outcomes for consumers.
Proactively advocate for lead programs on issues such as resource allocation, service improvement, service development, and policy development utilising high level negotiation and conflict management skills within an ethical legislative framework.
The Nurse Manager role works in collaboration with the CQMHAODS Clinical Team and wider CQ Health program team to support the Mental Health Services in provision of safe quality healthcare through exemplary clinical standards of practice for the specialty of Mental Health.

Context
This role has an operational reporting line to the Director of Community Programs and Allied Health (CQMHAODS) and professional reporting line to the Nursing Director.
This role will work directly with provision of clinical expertise in patient care within the Manager Mental Health Acute Services clinical area.
This role has financial (band 15) and human resource (band 7) delegations.
Provides clinical and specialist area governance of mental health community based acute care practice across the Hospital and Health Service (HHS) in conjunction with the Clinical Director, Specialist Medical Officer and other Team/Nurse Managers.
