WHAT TO EXPECT

A Software Engineer with a passion for quality, and proven experience of full stack software engineering, is required for a variety of digital projects being delivered for Jaguar Land Rover in Gaydon. You will form part of a collaborative, iterative and agile process within a multi-disciplined team helping deliver best in class digital solutions. This role provides a unique opportunity to help support and grow an entirely new software development capability within Jaguar Land Rover to support Remote Connected Vehicle Diagnostics.

Reporting to the Principal Software Engineer and working closely with other multi-disciplined engineers, you will be a valued member of the Jaguar Land Rover Gaydon team, consistently delivering to challenging business objectives, with a focus on testability, robustness, and performance for exciting new projects. You will work on real projects alongside experienced engineers and with constant opportunities to learn and build your new software development career.

Key Accountabilities And Responsibilities

In this role you will be expected to consult on the development of parts of the software system, making sure you are keeping to the internal standard and practises. Alongside this you will support all agile development ceremonies and implement technical roadmaps for key areas of focus in the code base.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED

We’re looking for Software Engineers that have proven experience in Java, as well as experience in using either React, Spring boot or Angular JS , as well as excellent verbal and written communication skills.

We are keen to speak to people who also have the following skills:

• Experience with relational database technologies such as MySQL or similar
• Experience of practices such as Test-Driven Development and Pair Programming
• Experience with Microservices architectures, RESTful APIs and message queues

The following skills and experience are nice to have:

• Experience with Kubernetes or other cloud infrastructure (Google Cloud Platform, AWS, Azure)
• Experience building mobile apps using frameworks such as React Native
