About the Role
Base Location: Perth
Salary: £47,872 – £55,653 + range of benefits to support your finances, wellbeing and family.

We have an exciting opportunity for an Operational Technology (OT) Technical Engineer to join our Distribution OT team.
Key responsibilities for this role will include:
– Install and maintain hardware and software systems used in monitoring and control of the electrical network.
– Diagnose and resolve issues with OT systems, using diagnostic tools to identify problems and work with other technical experts to develop solutions that minimise downtime and ensure the safety of workers and equipment.
– Assist with the design and development of new solutions to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of OT systems, using your technical expertise to identify areas for improvement and work with stakeholders to develop and implement solutions that meet business needs.
– Work with OT Security to ensure the security of OT systems, implementing security measures to prevent unauthorized access to sensitive data and ensure that OT systems are protected from cyber threats as well as work with IT teams to coordinate security efforts across the organisation.
What do I need?
To be considered for this role, we would love you to have:
– Degree level (or equivalent) qualification in a Computing, Engineering or Science based discipline (or demonstrable practical experience in one of these areas).
– Knowledge of the principles of software and hardware design and a working knowledge of Linux, Windows and Database applications (SQL or Oracle).
– Understanding and experience of the design, configuration, installation and commissioning of IT Applications. It would be desirable if this extended to operational technology applications such as Distribution Management Systems(DMS), Data Historians, general SCADA, Telemetry or communications systems.
– Ability to assess technical work, identify dependencies and provide estimates for completion.
