The Role: Explore Learning is looking for a passionate Payroll Supervisor with a good understanding of Payroll processes and legislation. This is a hybrid role but with the expectation of working from the Guildford Head Office ideally once a week. The Payroll Supervisor will have the ability of offering best-in-class service to all our employees and will be responsible for the processing of two payrolls for both our variable and salaried staff alongside the Payroll Administrator.Person Specification: Experience in running a full payroll cycle Some understanding of payroll policies and procedures To be an outstanding communicator and collaborator High attention to detail Self-motivated and dynamic in building relationships To be resilient with a can-do attitude Continuously striving for excellence To have excellent organisational skills To have some proven experience of processing period end, tax year end and P11Ds Good interpersonal skills and willing to make a positive contribution to the company’s culture. Experience with Access systems (Select HR & Select Pay) is desirableOverview of Role / Key Responsibilities: Ensuring that the salaried and variable pay cycles for the UK are completed to the highest accuracy and are finalised by the deadlines provided. Submitting RTI and preparing HMRC payments. (Setting up BACS transfers and payments where necessary) Working closely with the HR team to ensure payroll reflects any people movement throughout relevant months. Processing new starters, leavers and any pending changes via Select Pay/Select HR as well as calculating SSP, SMP and any other ad hoc payments. Responsible for submitting monthly payments to our pension provider, ensuring any new enrolments are processed in line with legal and company regulations. This may also include dealing with opt out requests and other queries regarding pensions. Oversight of all employee payroll questions administered through our internal help desk ticketing system and Payroll inbox. Ensuring compliance with all statutory and regulatory tasks including year-end process and keeping up to date with legislative updates. Ensuring that record keeping of key documents is of the highest order. Working with the Head of Payroll to continuously improve processes to ensure efficiency. Processing of Payroll Journals and Reconciliations and communication with the Finance team around this.
