Hours: 35hrs p/w Days: 5 days Monday- Friday Location: University of Glasgow, Teacher Education faculty We are excited to be recruiting to this unique role within Place2Be working in partnership with the University of Glasgow, Teacher Education faculty. This three year secondment role will be building on an approach that supports and develops capacity for student teachers and their tutors in the area of mental health and wellbeing. As a Clinician/Consultant you will build on a successful two year pilot, focusing on a strengthened approach in relation to student teachers understanding, skills and knowledge around mental health and emotional resilience. Teacher Education traditionally has had a limited focus on the areas of emotional literacy and mental health, and more generally, teachers today practise with very little support and supervision in these areas. As the successful trainer/consultant you will contribute to addressing these issues in the early development of teachers. Supporting teachers of the future to contribute to mentally healthy school communities Strengthening reflective practice around health and wellbeing Increasing learners knowledge and understanding of children’s mental health and wellbeing Building personal leadership qualities in all staff to respond to mental health needs Building teacher resilience which in turn will support career longevity This is a key strategic relationship for Place2Be and a unique role within the organisation, enabling us to continue to build our understanding of the impact we can have within a teacher education institution. The role holder will be a Place2Be employee, but seconded to the University of Glasgow for the duration of the partnership. About You The successful candidate: will have the vision, motivation and leadership skills to take this partnership to the next stage of development for Place2Be, The University of Glasgow and wider interested stakeholders. You will: Hold a recognised clinical qualification (in counselling, psychotherapy, clinical psychology, Art/Dance/Drama/Music Therapy) Hold a recognised training or teaching qualification, or willing to work towards one Hold a recognised membership of a relevant professional body (e.g. BACP/UKCP/NCS/BPS/HCPC/COSCA) Experience in a clinical role with experience and understanding of working with children, young people and schools Experience of delivering training to adults; confident in training at a senior level Experience of safeguarding child protection procedures and policy and commitment to safeguarding of children and vulnerable adults Recruitment process Closing date for receipt of all applications: Midnight of 15th June 1st Interview date: – 19th June via Video Interview Please note if we receive a high volume of applications, we may close this vacancy early.
