Postdoctoral Wireless Communications Research Engineer
– 12 month initial contract – extendable
– Inside IR35
– Hybrid working with 3 days at Basingstoke site and 2 days remote
– Some UK and European travel required
We have an exciting opportunity for a Wireless Communications Research Engineer with a global organisation. In this role you will be working on research on the evolution towards 6G.
In this role you will research and design new RAN techniques and will collaborate within the organisation and also with their global research community to create RAN technologies for the new generation of wireless communications.
Key responsibilities will include:
Track emerging concepts on RAN technologies suitable for the next generation of 3GPP wireless communication standards
Build a simulator platform for 6G radio communication layer experimentation using Matlab
Formulate, analyse and test novel concepts on RAN using the simulator
Work with team members to identify any successful novel ideas for promotion of standardisation groups such as 3GPP, IEEE etc
Essential skills and experience:
PhD in either: Signal processing, Wireless Communications or Telecommunications
At least 1 years post-graduation experience in a collaborative research role with a significant wireless communications research component.
Strong Matlab and/or C programming capability
Good technical writing and presentation skills
Good interpersonal & collaborative skills
Nice to have:
Good awareness of 3GPP standardisation workflow
Good understanding of AI/ML
