Primary School Pastoral Support Worker – Leeds

A good rated primary school based in South Leeds are seeking a school pastoral support worker to support a range of pupils across school.

The school are keen for to have the right person for the job who will make a great impact on supporting pupils’ SEMH needs and development as well as supporting school-wide safeguarding concerns.

The ideal candidate will:

• Have previous experience supporting teaching and learning or supporting pupils
• Have good knowledge of the statutory safeguarding procedures
• Be confident to deliver supportive activities 1 to 1 and a small group basis
• Be a reliable member of staff that staff can report safeguarding concerns to.
• Have a DBS on the update service

Your responsibilities will include:

• Supporting a range of pupils around school, pulling them from lessons to support their SEMH needs
• Reporting safeguarding issues in a timely and accurate manner
• Engaging pupils back into their learning
• Supporting behaviour and emotional support through activities and creating a close relationships
• Developing and implenting support plans for pupils
