Principal Electrical Design Engineer

Due to growth within the business we are now looking for a Principal Electrical Design Engineer to join our team. You will be fully conversant in all aspects of electrical design associated with Building Engineering Services including the site wide authority supplies required for major construction sites and industrial premises.

Key Expectations:

• Previous experience in leading major project designs in electrical engineering
• Undertake a client facing role in the development and design coordination of engineering project services
• Experience and understanding of integrated design in buildings
• Management of the tender process on multiple projects simultaneously
• Supervise staff and their workload within the department to prioritise deadlines
• Demonstrate a thorough knowledge and understanding of detailed co-ordination with other design disciplines
• Able to work on their own initiative with minimal supervision on all technical aspects of their discipline
• Identifying opportunities for new services and company development
• Provide evidence of delivering projects from inception to completion, through your own efforts and that of your own team
• Work as part of the Management team to share ideas and improve operation, recommending, supporting, and implementing continuous improvement activities and process and procedure improvements

Professional and Technical Expertise Requirements:

• Competent in specification writing, design/drawing for all building types
• Knowledge of key health and safety issues and legislation
• Must possess good knowledge and a competent ability in the use of Amtech and their preferred Lighting Design Software
• Be conversant with up to date IT, technical methodology and information sources
• Possess a thorough understanding of the relevant and current British and industry Standards
• Possess the ability to prioritise project and team workload/s
• Possess the ability to work to tight deadlines
