Role
Working in CDPQ’s London based private equity team, the candidate will be an integral part of the deal team supporting it both throughout new LBO transactions as well as with portfolio company monitoring. The candidate will be able to thrive in a collaborative, rather informal and also vivid cultural environment of high performers.
Main responsibilities
Participate in the evaluation of potential investment opportunities and contribute to the preparation of preliminary analyses and investment recommendation documents;
Support the team, by carrying out rigorous financial modelling and review of business models;
Contribute to the preparation of internal reports according to schedule and ensure that updates are implemented;
Exhaustively review companies’ financial reports, establish comparable data representative of the market, by carrying out a detailed analysis;
Provide support to the team in the preparation and organization of different discussions and meetings held with partners both inside and outside of CDPQ;
Systematically carry out in-depth research on the situation and trends related to her/his industry sectors: proactively follow the news and gather information from key sources;
Actively participate and take ownership of studies / analyses related to potential targets and/or market niches the team wishes to develop;
Help the team generate value added analyses for portfolio companies the Associate is involved with.
Requirements
Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in corporate finance, ideally within investment banking
Undergraduate degree in finance, economics or accounting is a plus but not necessary;
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered;
Excellent financial analysis skills, in particular LBO modelling;
Excellent proficiency with Excel and Powerpoint is needed;
French bilingual, spoken and written;
Be legally authorized to work in the UK;
Available to travel abroad.
