We are working with our client who is looking to expand their team and recruit a Process Engineer, due to an increased demand for their products and services. Our client is a leader in engineering, and they offer expertise to their customers to solve their challenging technical problems.
The role:
Responsible for increasing manufacturing productivity in all departments
Collaborate with supplier representatives to ensure the newest technology and consumables are being used to drive process and quality efficiency
Lead / attend engineering / technical review meetings and present work status and provide feedback where required
Ensure continuous improvement on the shop floor, by working with and developing the skills of equipment setters and operators
Responsible for NPI, the procurement of production equipment, managing first off production trials with the operations and quality teams
Responsible for supporting production teams on daily issues ensuring plant/processes remain operational
To work with the operations management to generate and manage gross margin improvement plans and proactively challenge existing work practices to support the annual business plan
Ensure a strong EHS culture on site
Support a strong culture of near miss reporting across all staff to assist in driving improvements to the site safety performance
To be committed to the Group-wide ethics and compliance programme and adhering at all times to the core elements – values, policies/guidance, training/education and compliance risk assessment
The candidate:
A minimum of 5 years’ experience within a production environment in an engineering role utilising lean manufacturing tools and techniques including value stream mapping, 6S, KanBan and Kaizen
Experience of operating within a strong H&S culture
Experience in project delivery and problem solving
Analytical and data driven
Ability to influence business decision makers
Performance driven and self motivated
Ability to evaluate, understand and manage risk associated with a project
Strong planning and organisational skills
Essential Experience:
A HNC qualification or higher in a relevant Engineering discipline
Experience utilising quality tools and Advanced Product Quality Planning techniques including, but not limited to; FMEA, SPC, Capability studies, DoE, 8D , Lean Sigma & Control Plans
Experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment
