Project Governance Lead (PMO Lead) – Permanent – Berkshire (hybrid working – 3 days/week in office)

MBNL is moving to a centralised model for programme and project delivery, and you will be responsible for supporting that model and creating a centre of excellence within MBNL, contributing to the project management office policy, standards, and processes to ensure that high standards of programme and project management are achieved in an efficient way throughout MBNL.

This role will be responsible for defining and assuring the Portfolio, Programme and Project (3PM) methodology and delivery standards, ensuring that the methodology promotes effective and efficient delivery and is proportionate to the project risk profile along with leading the development of the programme and project management capability within the PMO.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead on the creation, implementation and management of a project and programmes centre of excellence that all programmes and projects follow the policies, standards and processes to ensure successful project delivery
• Working with the ELT programme sponsors to build portfolio roadmap providing leadership and direction regarding sequencing and mobilisation of projects to maximise the business outcomes
• Responsible for the definition, maintenance, and continuous improvement of the 3PM methodology and standards that underpin project and programme delivery
• Responsible for the optimisation of the methodology and standards, ensuring the methods remain industry-leading and fit for purpose
• Lead on the definition and developing the project and programme capability framework working each of the ELT member to ensure the skills required to meet the current and future needs of the business demand are
• recruited, retained for future growth of projects.
• Responsible for the line management of a pool of project and programme managers along with the development of both their hard and soft delivery skills in line with the capability framework
• Responsible for the capacity planning of all PMO resource to ensure the business has the appropriate level of skill and experience to support current and future demand
• Responsible for ensuring projects and programmes follow the defined delivery methodology including establishing and running an assurance capability that aligns to the type of projects and delivery risk
• Responsible for looking across the MBNL portfolio of projects to identify synergies or opportunities to mitigate risk to maximise business outcomes.
• Responsible for the development and delivery of the MBNL project methodology training and to drive adoption and adherence by all functions

Critical Knowledge and Experience

• Strong track record of working on project or programmes as either a PMO manager or project manager
• Detailed knowledge of Risk management framework
• Comfortable working with broad range of Stakeholders
• Excellent stakeholder engagement with the ability to interact, engage, influence, and have credibility at all levels
• Confident communication skills and energy
• A passion for change and proactively encouraging new ideas
• Innovative, open minded and progressive in think
• Ability to work in complex environments, on large portfolios of work, being able to multitask
