You will need to take a pro-active role to ensure appropriate stock is purchased at the most competitive price. The main duties of the role include: Professionally, and effectively liaising with colleagues at branches and dealing with any purchase/order queries as and when they arise through to completion. Working accurately and with an eye for detail when placing purchase orders against the branch requests. Obtain best price quotes from suppliers and sourcing best prices from alternative suppliers where necessary. Effectively dealing with supplier queries by telephone and / or email and where necessary chasing suppliers for overdue parts. Preparing and raising purchase orders for goods and services and ensuring all data is entered correctly on the inhouse purchase system. To use the stock forecasting system (IMA) to ensure stock is order on time. Having responsibility for certain suppliers / products you will be able to interrogate the system to ensure we maintain adequate stock levels to meet the needs of the business and our customers. To check order confirmations against requested delivery dates and check pricing. The successful candidate will Ideally have some experience of working in a purchasing environment previously however this is not essential. Training for the role will be provided including the potential to work towards a qualification in purchasing will be provided. You will have a strong administration background with excellent attention to detail. Have excellent communication and relationship skills with the ability to speak with people at all levels.
