Duties & Responsibilities
Relationship Management
Quality Management System
Ownership / accountability to develop, maintain, and monitor adherence to AS9100 and ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems.
Develop a departmental vision and strategy to ensure compliance with customer requirements, and expectations.
Monitor activities to ensure sustained Quality Management System compliance.
Gather, analyse, and manage quality data.
Coordinate and provide quality education, and assistance to all employees.
Leadership
Be a role model on living the company values and ensuring their presence in everything we do.
Provide vision, leadership, and project coordination to the Quality department, and business.
Assess employees to understand knowledge gaps to determine training initiatives and targets.
Increase cross-functional insight and understanding to encourage collaboration to solve the toughest challenges.
Build a data-driven culture to understand and mitigate challenges.
Producing incentives and rewarding honesty & transparency in challenging situations.
Lead others to see problems and challenges as opportunities for improvement.
Drive a consistent, resource efficient approach to quality across the facility.
Financial Management
Determine financial needs of the department, and submit annual budget, or capital equipment acquisition proposals consistent with strategic direction, and stakeholder expectations.
Manage the performance of Quality department operations by setting goals, establishing metrics, and driving continual improvement initiatives and cost avoidance.
Ensure all company financial policies and procedures, including ethical compliance are followed.
Build processes and systems that improve cost visibility, and accuracy.
Required Skills and Experience
Must have 5+ years of demonstrated quality leadership experience, and experience in maintaining AS9100D and ISO9001:2015 Quality Management Systems within a manufacturing environment.
Proven leadership experience with the ability to manage and motivate a team.
Assertive leader with proven experience in diplomatically pushing back on issues, when necessary, with customers and suppliers.
Strong leader, secure in his/her abilities that will coach, train, and mentor other managers in their understanding and implementation of the Quality Management System.
Proven experience working in fast paced, dynamic work environment.
Sound analytic skills. Able to see the big picture, remain focused and composed while shuffling multiple demands and make appropriate decisions.
Strong blueprint interpretation and Geometric Dimension & Tolerance skills.
Experience with internal and external audits.
IS/IS Not, Read across, 8D, A6, A3, etc.
