Joining the User Experience team as a Rekey/EUD Engineer you will you will build and configure secure equipment to support one of the busiest upgrade projects. You will work closely with our Service Desk to repair/update equipment. You will work with other technical teams within Service to ensure that hardware is built to agreed standards and to provide input to continuous improvement of processes across the team. Build and configure network and EUD devices.
Perform Break Fix on all EUD equipment where a known fix is available, ensuring normal service is restored as quickly as possible (or a work around provided) with minimal disruption to the customer, ensuring the customer is kept fully up to date with progress.
Distributing replacement kit when required – liaising with asset management to ensure estate information remains accurate and up to date.
Diagnosing hardware and software related issues with devices.
Develop and maintain build and troubleshooting documentation.
Manage tickets assigned through the ticketing system. Experience Handling cryptographic material
Designs, builds, manages and supports the infrastructure services that underpin all internal user services and services to the public.
Working in a team of infrastructure specialists and engineers, supports and maintains infrastructure solutions and services as directed and according to departmental policy; ensures services are delivered and used as required; work with and support third parties to provide infrastructure services.
Typical skills:
Can build, configure, administer and support infrastructure technologies and solutions such as: computing, storage, networking, physical infrastructure, software, COTS and open source packages and solutions, and virtual and cloud computing, including IaaS, PaaS, SaaS.
Discuss the central principles of modern standards approach.
Investigate problems in systems, processes and services, with an understanding of the level of a problem.
Know how to produce detailed designs and document all work using required standards, methods and tools, including prototyping tools where appropriate.
Build and test simple interfaces between systems or can work on more complex integration as part of a wider team.
Test scripts under supervision.
