Job Purpose: The Asset Systems – SAP Plant Maintenance (PM) Manager will lead the coordination of the Asset Systems team in their activities to administer user support for the enterprise asset register (SAP PM) together with the enrichment and development of the master asset data held within it. You will orchestrate and prioritise the activities of the team to meet the business need, ensuring that the configuration and processes are compliant with all relevant standards and procedures. Dimensions: You will manage a team of 6 staff Principal Accountabilities: General daily management of the Asset Systems staff, co-ordinating and prioritising their activities such that business demands are met. Set and deliver the Individual Performance Reviews of the Asset System staff and associated performance management of the team. Ensure the team’s routine activities are completed at the expected frequency. Responsibility for configuration of SAP PM to reflect specified asset hierarchies, inspection and maintenance strategies, task lists and asset characteristics. Audit of master asset data to ensure adherence to the asset hierarchy design and compliance with standards and procedures – most critically concerning the inspection and maintenance of assets. Be an important point of reference for technical matters relating to SAP PM and its use. Lead interaction with the IT department and our users in defining system development requirements and their subsequent testing and implementation. Engineering interpretation of our requirements into SAP PM configuration and functionality Initial review and assessment of Asset Systems SAP PM change requests – clarifying requirements with, and presenting options to, requestors. Be an important representative for both internal and external audits undertaken against the SAP PM data and supporting processes, managing the resolution of any non-compliances raised. Support alignment activities between UKPN’s primary systems – SAP / ADMS and NetMAP. Support the team by undertaking system administration activities directly – e.g. system updates / data extracts / applying configuration changes Manage SAP PM incident investigation, testing and resolution activities. Deputise for the Asset Systems Manager. Ensure the Asset Systems Measurements and Service level agreements are delivered. Development, preparation and presentation of management reports. Qualifications: Educated to Degree level in a related subject or equivalent experience. Knowledge SAP PM and it’s configuration. Hands on experience applying SAP configuration changes and associated procedures Knowledge of UKPN SAP PM customisations and their functionalities Minimum 2 years’ experience of SAP data management (preferably relating to Plant Maintenance). Comprehensive knowledge of UK Power Networks network data assets and associated asset management activities. A good engineering knowledge of the UK Power Networks network assets Membership of a professional body such as the IAM or DAMA, or working towards it. Advanced IT skills in the Microsoft Office suite. Excellent collaboration and presentational skills. Understanding of regulatory framework and associated reporting. Staff management experience is desirable. High level numeracy The ability to translate complicated technical data issues into tangible business implications and impact. Nature and Scope: The Asset Systems Team has the primary responsibility for the configuration and data management within our principal asset management system, SAP PM. This underpins our entire asset management, work management and operational activities relating to all plant and equipment on the electrical distribution network. Specifically, SAP PM acts as the asset and work management register for over 3 million assets. Inspection and maintenance activities on the assets are driven by SAP PM and it holds all the data recorded during those activities. SAP PM is the master register for asset nameplate, commissioning, condition, calibration, defect and measurement data. This information is fundamental to the efficient and successful operation of our business, informing our forward investment plans, asset management strategies, legislative compliance and regulatory reporting. Reporting directly to the Asset Systems Manager, the Asset Systems – SAP PM Manager fulfils an important role in ensuring the Asset Systems team perform to a high standard, meeting all requirements within the timescales set. You will identify and progress opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce complexity associated with the SAP PM configuration and associated business processes. Compliance is a fundamental factor ensuring the correct set-up of the system and application of procedure which guide the system configuration. Requiring knowledge of both business activities and SAP PM this role is important for system developments, bridging the gap between technical IT staff developing, and engineering staff using, the system.
