The Job

Here at Academics, we are looking for an SEND Teaching Assistant to work in an OUTSTANDING SEND school in Chester. As an SEND Teaching Assistant, you will assist children in their learning environment, applying targeted interventions to support them in developing their communication and cognition skills. You will help engage pupils who need guidance and encouragement to overcome their barriers to learning, including moderate, severe, profound, and multiple learning difficulties. You may also be required to assist pupils with personal care needs, including changing, physical development programmes, and personal independence skills.

As an SEND Teaching Assistant you will:

– Motivate, engage and inspire your students.

– Manage behaviour positively and in line with the schools’ ethos and procedures.

– Adhere to professional practice standards and legislation, including confidentiality, safeguarding, equality, diversity and inclusion policies

– Support the class teacher and fellow teaching assistants, adapting your approach on a case by case basis in order to engage students effectively
