This role is based on-site, 5 days perweek, in either our Bridgend or Reading offices. Occasional eveningand weekend work for support activities will berequired.
All applicants must hold or beprepared to undergo National Security Vetting (NSV) to SecurityCheck (SC) and NPPV3 level.
Yourfuture duties andresponsibilities
This is an exciting opportunity for a Senior App Support Analyst tojoin a close knit dynamic team to provide third-line applicationsupport on a high-profile service, with an opportunity to work onupcoming development changes.
The Senior AppSupport Analyst is responsible for the following:
-Maintenance, configuration, and support of distinct, bespokeapplications
– Support of Incidents, Problems &Service Requests assigned to the Application Team
– Clientand user communication on a day-to-day basis
– Workingwithin Service Level Agreement parameters
– ImpactAssessment in response to requests for enhancement /change
– Providing assistance and leadership to juniorteam members
– Responding to and acting on customer issues/ requests and recognition of client priorities
-Attendance of client meetings as necessary
– Flexibilitybetween tasks
Requiredqualifications to be successful in thisrole
Essential Skills:
– Ability to work independently withminimal supervision
– Enthusiastic individual willing tolearn about all aspect of IT
– Analytical approach withgood fault-finding skill
– Experience of working in acustomer focused support environment
– Familiarity withbasic Unix commands
– Knowledge of service managementmethodologies (ITIL)
– Understanding of support processesand experience of their implementation and usage in an applicationsupport scenario (preferably underpinned by ITILexperience)
– Effective customer relationship, confidentclient facing and interpersonal skills
– Willingness tojoin an on call rota after sufficienttraining
Desirable Skills:
-Ability to quickly diagnose complex issues and resolve these withminimal support
– Ability to proactively identify risks& issues, and develop appropriate mitigation plans
-Knowledge of Shell scripting
– Experience of working in anapplication support role
– Certification of ITILFoundation
– Experience in using Remedy or similar calllogging systems
– Any knowledge of the followingtechnologies would be beneficial though not essential
-Java/J2EE modules (including Spring framework)
-Weblogic
– Oracle stored procedures
– Open SSObased Authentication
– Containerisation
-Enterprise Search solutions e.g. FAST or Elastic Search
-MFT Software
