Senior Core Engineer

What you’ll do:

Work in a cross functional team of skilled engineers building software to manage infrastructure, leveraging Kubernetes as a basis for a PaaS offering, driving the automated CI/CD strategy across the organisation, and building tooling and operators to deliver key capabilities for engineering teams across Sky and NBCU (Peacock).

• You are encouraged to grow with the role; roadmaps are built with the expectation that engineers will take time to learn and really understand the technology

• Developing automation and software to manage infrastructure, orchestration, and tooling/libraries to grow the platform and enable teams

• Test driven, software defined approach to Platform as a Service

• Working on the strategic large scale, multi-tenanted Kubernetes platform central to key propositions running on a global scale, including NOW, Peacock, and Sky.

• Diverse set of opportunities within internal teams, depending on personal interests across Software Engineering, SRE, Data, and Security Engineering teams

What you’ll bring:

• A solid grasp of computer science fundamentals and Agile methodologies

• Significant experience in the design and automated delivery of highly available and resilient Infrastructure !

• Good experience with testing infrastructure solutions with automated pipelining

• Proven Experience using AWS and/or GCP and cloud networking, ideally EKS or GKE

• A good understanding of unix/linux operating systems, designing optimised solutions, and performing deep investigations.

• Experience programming using Go or other JVM based language

• Familiar with software Engineering and SRE standard processes, Testing strategies, and CI/CD !
