Senior DPO

Drillmar Resources are currently recruiting a Senior DPO to commence an ongoing rotation onboard a ultra-deepwater harsh environment semi-submersible.

Qualifications required:

Basic

• Possess DP unlimited Certification
• Possess a valid Basic Offshore Safety Induction and Emergency Training (BOSIET) certification or equivalent
• Must be eligible to work in the UK
• Offshore drilling rig experience

Preferred

• Direct experience as a Dynamic Positioning Operator
• Possess secondary education
• Possess or able to obtain a valid passport

Primary Responsibilities:

The Senior DPO and DPO may:

• Operate dynamic positioning equipment in order to maintain the rig in a stable condition and at the correct draft and trim
• Setup the DP system and position reference systems
• Advise the Driller and Chief Mate of potential position loss
• Assist in performing preventive maintenance on DP equipment
• Ensure that there is adequate power and reserves of power for the maintenance of position and operations; give immediate attention to any problems
• Ensure that all defects and anomalies are reported to the Chief Mate and relevant department heads; maintain accurate records
• Train Assistant Dynamic Positioning Officers
• Stand navigation watch
• Sound ballast and bulk tanks as needed
• Assist with loading and sampling of bulk products
• Perform emergency duties and responsibilities as stated on the Station Bill, DP Emergency Response Plan and vessel specific Emergency Response Manual
• Maintain logbooks and utilize inventory and maintenance management software systems
• Assist as directed by Chief Mate with rig projects
• Participate fully in all Health, Safety and Environmental initiatives and safety programs and in pre-tour weekly safety meetings
• Follow Diamond Offshore Global Excellence Management System (G.E.M.S.)
• Perform other duties as required
