Senior Group Financial Accountant Ibstock PLC Leicester Rd, Ibstock LE67 6HS Full time, Permanent contract Dimensions/Relationships: The role will have scope to report across the Group (2022 turnover c.£500m) Specific responsibilities to prepare cash flow forecasts, VAT returns for the Group, Statutory accounts preparation and review of work carried out by Group Financial Accountants Assist in the preparation, standardisation and improvement of business reporting across the business Ad-hoc project and improvement work expected. Including implementation of a new group reporting system Group Finance Including FP&A Manager, Financial Controller, CFO, Finance Managers and other Group Finance Colleagues Divisions finance teams and Finance Business Partners Overall Accountability Objective: Group Financial accountant assisting the Head of Group Reporting in all aspects of the Group Finance function including both the monthly reporting cycle and Group Finance department improvement initiatives. Working with two Group Financial Accountants coaching and reviewing work carried out. The role will include ad-hoc projects on a regular basis across all areas of group finance with scope for work within the divisions. This role will include assistance in the preparation of both interim and yearly statutory accounts for a FTSE 250 listed entity as well as statutory accounts for the group s subsidiary entities. The Senior Group Financial accountant will have responsibilities to review Skills: Recognised accountancy qualification (CIMA, ACA, ACCA) Self-starter with can do attitude Ability to multi-task under pressure and in a fast-paced environment with fluctuating priorities and deadlines Process oriented approach and focused attention to detail with high standards for quality and accuracy in his/her work product Strong interpersonal and Communication skills, verbal and written Challenging/questioning approach Ability to present ideas and concepts to both senior stakeholders and team members Creative approach to problem solving with the ability to work with the resources available IT/systems JDE & Hubble preferable High level of proficiency in the use of Microsoft products including Excel, Word and PowerPoint. Experience of responding to and providing information to external audit entities Knowledge: Experience of month end close and consolidation process for a large business with multiple trading divisions Understanding of key business drivers and how to articulate and challenge company reporting Understanding company culture and processes Experience in running change processes from inception to completion Ability to speak up and challenge positively challenge Financial systems and controls Solid balance sheet understanding Statutory accounting preparation Knowledge of both UK GAAP and IFRS accounting standards Key Performance indicators Timely and accurate preparation of monthly reporting Completion of business improvement initiatives Environment Reports to Head of Group Reporting Senior accountant with two Group Financial Accountants as part of a 4 person Group Finance function (Including Head of Group Reporting) Please note, it is our policy to verify all relevant qualifications.
