Wood Digital Consulting (DC) is currently recruiting a Senior HSE Advisor to support one of our UK projects. Applicants must have extensive experience in the oil and gas industry to deliver the safety required to ensure that the projects are carried out by the delivery team in a safe manner and to regulatory obligations.

Whilst this role can be based anywhere in the UK, mobility and travel to customer sites and face to face meetings with colleagues will be expected, as required.

Must be able to pass HMG Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) check.

The Senior HSE Advisor will s upport the implementation of the projects in line with company objectives including continuous improvement of customer satisfaction, and safety performance.

You will work as part of the team providing HSSE support services to the project and business unit operations management, delivering it with passion and commitment providing a consistency in great customer experience and making sure services deliver optimally meeting all Wood policy and compliance requirements.

Individually you will be responsible for the sourcing or provision of timely advice and guidance on all matters pertaining to HSSE with respect to Legislation, International Standards, Company Policy and Management System and Client requirements, thereby ensuring business HSSE risks are prevented and mitigated.

• Work with HSSE Professional Shared Services Management to support resolution of cases
• Identify and raise continuous improvement opportunities
• Provide a professional advisory and technical service to business colleagues across a broad range of HSSE queries and processes, including supporting with complex case management, producing correspondence, handling customer queries, monitoring reports and documentation
• Diagnostic and analytical skills with the ability to listen actively, ask probing questions and analyze requirements
• Outstanding customer focus and the ability to manage customer requirements through a partnership approach
• Professional and flexible approach to work and to managing customer needs, this includes ability to work reasonably flexible hours to meet needs of customers in multitude of time zones
• Stakeholder management and customer interaction with multi – cultural teams
• Willingness to own tasks and the resilience to work through issues to conclusion, maintaining energy and motivation
• Credibly provides sound advice, accurate information, and timely support to all stakeholders
• Liaising with and building strong relationship with Business Unit HSSE team
• Promoting workforce involvement in all HSSE activities, initiatives, and programs
• Keep up to date with policy, process and documentation changes maintaining ability to respond to a full range of HSSE queries
• Provide skills and knowledge to efficiently deliver an outstanding performance against agreed KPIs
• Keep up to date with future trends in HSSE and participate in internal Innovation and Improvement forums, remaining abreast of legislative requirements

Skills / Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in OHS or another applicable field
• Investigation qualifications in Root Cause Analysis (e.g., TapRoot , TopSet , ICAM)
• CDM experience required DSEAR COMAH preferable
• Good level of experience in a technical role, or association with HSSE role
• Experience working in a field – based delivery environment with experience across multiple regulatory and cultural environments
• Lead Auditor Qualifications (desirable) ISO 45001, ISO 14001
• CMIOSH, CSP, CRSP, RSP, or equivalent (desirable)
• Good planning and organizational skills
• Persuasion and influencing skills
• Effective / competent MS Office Suite User
• High level of communication skills in both written and spoken format
• Ability to analyze caseload individually and across the team and identify improvements and issues
• Identifying customer needs, seeking, and providing effective solutions to their queries
• Works pro – actively to support and deliver excellent customer experience
• Ability to identify and address or escalate risk
• Ability to apply judgement to resolve individual cases
