SENIOR INFRASTRUCTURE ENGINEER – SCOTTISH MSP – AMAZING OPPORTUNITY!

We are seeking an experienced IT engineer to join our client’s dynamic team, supporting and developing our client’s Service Provider infrastructure. You will play a crucial role in the research, design, deployment, and support of key services for our customers.

They offer flexibility in your work schedule and location, with a preference for you to be based in our Aberdeen office. As an integral member of our team, you will help us uphold our commitment to maximizing customer uptime and be an essential part of our client’s success. Your experience in a similar-sized organization will give you a deep understanding of the demands and opportunities this role brings.

Your key responsibility will be enhancing the efficiency and stability of our current networks, focusing on Cisco and Palo Alto environments. With your expertise in designing and implementing network solutions, you will prioritize availability and security, recognizing the critical role our infrastructure plays in our operations.

Essential:

• Degree or equivalent in a relevant technical engineering discipline
• Extensive experience in deploying, configuring, and supporting Firewalls, Routers, and Switches to ensure optimal network availability, efficiency, and security
• Proficiency in working in an ITIL environment
• Experience with Azure/Microsoft 365
• Strong understanding of cybersecurity principles, incident management, and priorities
• Proven ability to monitor, diagnose, and troubleshoot network and infrastructure faults and performance
• Skill in reporting network status and KPIs to key stakeholders, both internal and external
• Project management experience, ensuring the successful delivery of key milestones across multiple projects
• Writing and maintaining technical documentation
• Excellent customer-facing skills, including supporting pre-sales activities
• Dedication to delivering exceptional customer support, building trust, and fostering knowledge sharing among colleagues
• Continuous awareness of the latest industry technologies and updates

Desirable:

• Vendor certifications, such as Cisco, Palo-Alto, Juniper, Microsoft
• Familiarity with cybersecurity standards: Cyber Essentials, IASME, ISO27001
• Experience working in an Agile or Prince2 project management framework
• Involvement in researching, developing, and rolling out new services
