As our Support Worker, you ll be at the heart of supporting our customers to develop their skills to live more independently in the community. You ll make a big difference each day as you help our customers achieve their hopes and aspirations. Amazing we know! Our service supports customers who are vulnerable and have multiple and complex needs. These could include a history of rough sleeping, poor mental health, substance misuse and low-level offending behaviours. We provide safe and secure housing whilst supporting our customers to prepare for independent living. Typical day as our Support Worker Assisting customers with practical, daily living tasks to develop their independence, helping them to achieve the goals, aspirations and outcomes documented in their support plans. Helping customers with daily living activities such as making meals, shopping, budgeting, maintaining their tenancy and moving onto independent accommodation if they are able. Carrying out risk assessments, support planning, goal setting and regular reviews. Supporting customers to attend appointments with external agencies such as Social Care, Probation, and Mental Health and Substance Misuse Services. Experience of caring for others, you may have worked in a support role before or have experience of caring for others such as family members or children. The ability to work on your own initiative, remain calm under pressure and have a resilient approach. Job details Flexible working hours on agreement with line manager Where we re flexible with you, we do need to meet the needs of our customers. That may mean adapting your start or finishing times on occasion. We do our job on a rota basis and you ll take your turn working days, evenings, weekends, and bank holidays. However, there is flexibility to work the hours that fit around your commitments. Although there will be lone working as part of the role, we do get together regularly for training and team meetings, and the team are available for support throughout your shift either in person or remotely. Able to use technology to update support plans, complete online learning and to collaborate with colleagues. You ll need an Enhanced DBS check done and we pay for that.
