The Senior Sustainability Manager role The remit of this role will be to translate our company requirements into action at project level as well as ensuring that the interests and requirements of our client and project are addressed through strategy development, review, and implementation. Key responsibilities you will undertake are: Ensuring that we have accurate and robust data to demonstrate our achievements and inform our future direction. Being a visible sustainability champion across the business, ensuring a consistent approach in line with the company’s sustainability strategy including themes such as embodied carbon, lifecycle cost assessment, circular economy and biodiversity. Actively involved in company sustainability working groups – for example our Science Based Target Task Force. Provide support and education to supply chain members to ensure sustainability strategy targets are realised. Owning the case study process for the business, ensuring that best practice is communicated across the business. Provide sustainability advice to PQQ, tender and PCSAs, including risks and opportunities and presenting to client and their wider professional teams. Leading design & specification reviews to ensure that they deliver the necessary performance required by both company and client requirements (including BREEAM, WELL or other environmental assessment methods). Delivery of training on environmental management and sustainability to the projects. Responsible for project performance and reporting against Build Sure, and the effective implementation of our reporting tools. Your profile What will your profile need to include ideally? Experience in managing and mentoring members of your Sustainability project team Maintenance of Environmental Management System certified to ISO14001; Ensuring all project, client and Sir Robert McAlpine’s sustainability requirements are embedded in commercial documentation with trade contractors and delivered on site; Implementation of community investment initiatives and delivery of Section 106 obligations ;Management of environmental assessments such as BREEAM, Conducting regular site inspection and internal audits to measure site environmental performance; Rewards We’re ready to invest in you and your future, and offer wide-ranging, performance-related progression opportunities.
