The impact you will have

Working as an Arjo Sustainability Manager, you will be responsible creating sustainability plans, conducting site assessments and producing reports on findings, including renewable energy and zero-carbon technologies. You will engage in external forums and associations, as well as developing and training of sustainability within the different Arjo functions.

• Create and maintain a credible Carbon Reduction Plan
• Lead our environment impact monitoring and reporting, including setting meaningful carbon deduction targets
• Deliver a framework to embed evaluation and environmental considerations to our activities, budget planning and service delivery
• Lead/participate on connecting our social and environmental impact to enable us to articulate our impact and value to our partners and supporters
• Support with best practice responses in tender and bid processes within sustainability topics
• Support the organisation in development of policies, tools, procedures and processes in line with the sustainability targets and commitments
• Develop and support the global KPI reporting on sustainability metrics
• Manage development of tools and systems for sustainability data
• Support in setting carbon reduction targets according to Government & NHS requirements
• Support with knowledge of how to reduce our CO2 emissions to become net zero
• Monitor sustainability legislation impacts on employees and product development
• Support in setting sustainability indicators in new development projects
• Identify and build strategic relationships with key partners/stakeholders externally
• Liaise with internal stakeholders in making recommendations and improvements to the distribution of new and refurbished technology, meeting the immediate need and reducing waste
• Gather information and trends and manage data collection, control and analysis
• Monitor legislation, policy and legal changes in sustainability
• Monitor reporting and make recommendations on our Arjo response to drive Sustainability Plan
• Support the team that complete sustainability reporting for external stakeholders
• Develop and manage training material for management and employees
• Recommend internal training courses (environmental and sustainability training) as classroom, e-learning session or similar
• Awareness and sustainability information for staff in Arjo e.g. On-boarding program, e-learning session or similar
• Networking with Sustainability responsible in the organisation for sharing sustainability best practice and competence development

The skills you will need

– Bachelor s Degree in Sustainable Development field of study or NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent – desirable

– Basic knowledge of Quality and Environmental Management within a medical device or other regulated environment

– Knowledge of environmental impact assessment including current trends and good practice, especially in understanding Arjo s carbon and digital footprint

– Knowledge of applicable regulations and standards, e.g. GHG Protocol, GRI, SBTi, CSRD

– A strong knowledge of relevant health and safety legislation, compliance and regulations

– Understanding of the impact of current global economic, social and environmental pressures

– Knowledge of NHS supply chain – desirable

– Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, SharePoint and databases

– Effective communication, comfortable facilitating discussion and presenting to different audiences

– Analytical skill able to distil datasets and concepts in engaging and concise terms

– The ability to move between high level strategic thinking and operational detail
