Overall responsibility for the day to day running of several pieces of machinery within the overall Production and Packing lines. The Technician role encompasses the Set Up (to defined standards of Safety, Quality and Performance), running of Production including periodic checks, and Maintenance activities on these pieces of equipment. This includes all levels of the Preventative Maintenance Schedule, as well as breakdowns, in liaison with the other Technicians working on the same station.
Responsibilities include but are not solely limited to:
Safety
Responsibility to ensure Operation and Maintenance in a safe manner, as described in the Standard Operating Procedures and Safe systems of Work.
Escalate Issues effecting Safety immediately within the area of responsibility and beyond.
Provision of Dynamic Risk Assessments for non-standard operations and tasks.
Quality
Responsibility for the process quality within the given manufacturing area; ensuring adherence to quality standards and procedures.
Responsibility for escalating any Quality issues identified on parts produced.
To aid the implemention of quality improvement projects.
Cost
Support the attainment and improvement of manufacturing costs and standards
To attend and contribute to regular team meetings on performance.
Delivery
Efficient operation of manufacturing processes to meet production programme requirements.
Contribute to, and support implementation of CI activities utilising lean tools & problem solving techniques to drive process improvement.
People
Provide motivation and support to apprentices, to ensure development of a sustainable capability.
To be a key enabler in the drive to a high performance culture and environement.
Have the ability to work autonomously without the need for direct supervision.
