Timber Products Supervisor

Our client is a leading UK manufacturer and distributor within the swimming pool industry. They are currently looking for a Timber Products Supervisor to join their hardworking and busy team.

The ideal candidate will possess demonstrable experience in a similar position, have strong supervisor experience and have excellent communication skills. As a Timber Products Supervisor you will be assisting with the supervision of the activities and training of all operatives with the department, assisting the Timber Products Manager in the day-to-day planning and running of the department as well as inspecting incoming goods as per the procedure and actively monitoring stock levels.

Your duties as a Timber Products Supervisor would be:

• Assisting with the supervision of the activities and training of all operatives within the department ensuring that all goods are manufactured in accordance with the works order and completing quality checks in accordance with the procedure
• Assisting the Timber Products Manager in the day-to-day planning and running of the department and covering their duties when absent
• Inspecting incoming goods as per the procedure
• Accepting goods and carrying out the quantity and quality checks and liaise with Goods In to book in new stock
• Actively monitor stocks and advise the Timber Products Manager when stocks are low and additional stock is required
• Ensuring all customer orders are prepared and completed on time
• Working any additional hours required and authorised by your manager, a senior manager or a director to ensure this happens
• Assisting in the weekly planning and complete work orders
• Ensuring all equipment, tools and working areas are kept clean and well maintained, ensuring all maintenance logs are filled in and report any faults or breakdowns to the Timber Products Manager
• Responsible for department security, shutting down and starting up the Timber Products Department
• Manufacture all products in accordance with instructions detailed on works orders and approved drawings, always maintaining a high standard and completing quality checks in accordance with the procedure
• Identify the natural characteristics and any faulty parts within a timber products and make informed decisions on whether that part is acceptable for stock
• Removing and cleaning tooling from CNC Notcher and to carry out the calibration procedure on the CNC machine both the pusher and rotational table
• Check and square up chop saws and table saws
• Assist with stock checks and resolve any inaccuracies effectively
• Changing turn over blades, saw blades or scribes on CNC tooling
• Carrying out maintenance to all machinery in the Timber Products department and be controller of the maintenance log
• Pick and pack all relevant materials for all package pool requirements
• Ensuring all staff follow procedures as laid down by COSHH regulations and understanding and following the Company’s rules and health and safety requirements
• Operating all equipment and machinery in the Timber Products department within the H.S.E regulations

Salary:

£25,000 – £30,000 per annum

• 28 days holiday (including Bank Holidays) rising to 34 days holiday (including Bank Holidays) over 5 years

Hours:

• Monday – Thursday, 8am – 5pm
• Friday, 8am – 4pm
• Full Time, Permanent
