SkyBlue have an exciting new vacancy for Traffic Safety Control Officer (TSCO / TSS) to join our client who are one of the largest construction companies in the UK to work in their Highways department.

The successful Traffic Safety Control Officer (TSCO/ TSS) would be joining our client on an long – term contractual basis (inside IR35). The role will be on 6 on 3 off rotational shift basis, with 12-hour shifts.

Duties of Traffic Safety Control Officer (TSCO/ TSS) include:

• Liaise with Assistant Traffic Manager and Traffic Managers on daily basis to agree scope and programme of works.
• Review traffic management drawings.
• Aiding the Project team on TM Issues.
• Check and maintain all traffic management.
• Produce daily reports recording traffic management.
• Maintain traffic management vehicle, and equipment to ensure it is fit for purpose.
• Advise Assistant Traffic Manager of any traffic management concerns.
• Ensure all operations are correctly segregated from the general public.
• Ensure all traffic management is in accordance with Chapter 8.
• Ensure all stakeholders have required access to properties, driveways etc.

The successful Traffic Safety Control Officer (TSCO/ TSS) will possess the following:

• Lantra 12A/B,12D & M7 – essential
• 12 A/B Foreman
• 3 x Day First Aid Course / De-Fib
• TSCO / TSS Qualified (TSS Preferred)
• CSCS: Gold Traffic Management Preferred
• NRSWA supervisor – desirable or Understanding of the New Roads and Street Works Act NRSWA
• Knowledge of Traffic Signs Manual, Traffic Signs Regulation and General Directions (TSRGD)
• Extensive Knowledge of Chapter 8
• Experience of Temporary Barrier Installation
• Experience of Temporary White Lining Installation
• Experience of Narrow Lanes Installation
• Experience of incident management
• SMSTS
• An understanding of Stake Holder impact
• Strong communication skills
• Excellent organisational skills and able to multi-task
• Ability to maintain and build relationships
• An understanding of Road Space booking systems
• 2-3 years minimum traffic management experience as a Traffic Safety Control Officer
