This well established SME forwarding agent have a new opportunity within their busy export division for an enthusiastic Trainee Export Clerk who is looking to embark on a career in the forwarding/shipping industry.
The successful candidate will be educated to a good standard and have a 5 year checkable education and work history to date (NO criminal record) and a driving licence (Due to poor public transport links, candidate will need to possess their own transport and full UK driving licence).
The Trainee Export Clerk will be confident with good communication skills and the ability to liaise with customers/other staff members alike at all levels both verbally and over email.
Previous export knowledge is not necessary, as full aspects of export and Customs training both in-house and external will be provided.
The salary is negotiable and relevant to education and any relevant work experience
Excellent benefits, paid overtime when necessary and after training, 25 days holiday, rising to 30 after 3 years service plus BH .and pension/healthcare is available after probation.

IT – to include: Excel, Word, Outlook (If possible)

TASKS & Duties
Completion/updating of spreadsheets Training to be provided
Monitoring of a multiple mailboxes (outlook)
Filing
Export Customs Entries Training to be provided – internal/external
Booking collections – Per Customer Specifications
Working well within a team and meeting deadlines
Liaise with Customers/suppliers by phone and by e-mail
Basic hours would be 0900 – 1730 (hour for lunch) but some requirements for paid overtime in the future and after full training is completed (6 months onwards)
