Trainee Vehicle Technician with at least a year’s general mechanical experience sought by a busy, family-run garage in Great Barr, Birmingham. Established for nearly 30 years, the garage has expertise in clutch replacement, servicing, diagnostics, brakes, exhausts & catalytic converters, cam belts and more.The Role:As a Trainee Vehicle Technician, you’ll be working on vehicles while receiving training in vehicle maintenance within a fast-paced garage environment. Your duties will include:

• Repairing /replacing broken or defective parts
• Fault finding
• Diagnosing issues by inspecting vehicle engine and components
• Servicing vehicles
• Operating specialist equipment
• All other associated tasks

The successful Trainee Vehicle Technician should have:

• 1-2 years general mechanical experience is essential
• Level 1 qualification in Motor Vehicle Maintenance
• Level 2 qualification in Motor Vehicle Maintenance & Repair
• Ability to commute easily to Great Barr
• Full driving licence
• Own tools would be an advantage

The ideal candidate will have a keen interest in the automotive trade, enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and be eager to learn.Benefits:

• £19,000 – £24,000 salary depending on experience
• Overtime at 1.5x
• Full training will be provided within the role
