As Smart Choice Metering continues to grow in 2023, we have a new and exciting position available for an experienced Trainer to join our team in Trafford Park, Manchester.

We are looking for an excellent Trainer to help our new personnel cultivate their skills and knowledge. You will provide complete training to share your expertise in ways that motivate our new recruits.

Your abilities to convey a message should only be surpassed by a deep knowledge of your field, with organisational skills and a positive attitude being important qualities that you must possess.

The goal is to provide in depth product knowledge and expert advice to allow our recruits to get the best high-quality training.

Key Responsibilities (but not limited to):

• Instructing new starters on all electrical testing procedures in line with regulations
• To carryout assessments as per MOCOPA guidelines
• Demonstrate and instruct on how to correctly install domestic pipework and gas meters, with also how to install electric smart meters (SMET 2)
• To invigilate and mark exams
• Ensure that all new starters have all the correct PPE and tools required to carry out both types of meter exchange
• Book additional learning requirements with other companies i.e., Asbestos awareness and CMA1
• Track and monitor existing engineer’s qualifications to ensure that they are all up to date
• Carryout drug testing and also colour blindness tests

Qualifications and Education Requirements:

• CCN1 / MET1 or equivalent smart metering diploma
• 18th Edition

Competencies:

• Minimum 3 years’ experience within the utilities industry
• Determining and assessing the company’s training and employee’s development needs
• Ability to work with employees, Human Resource team, Senior Management and 3rd party partners to ensure all training requirements are met
• Managing employee training, scheduling additional training with external resources for specialist training
• Monitoring and assessing the effectiveness and success of the training process
• Strong Microsoft Office experience
