St Edward’s School
To further enhance our excellent Drama provision, we are seeking a talented Speech and Drama specialist.
You will teach pupils on a weekly basis, either individually or in pairs, focusing on vocal and physical warm-ups, working on text, improvisation and technique.
Students are set individual ambitious targets and challenges for each pupil to find their own musical path. For many, that might mean getting them prepared for regular exams from LAMDA – which are offered on site every term.
For specific individuals higher up the school, that may mean seeing progress in grade 8 or diploma qualifications; for others, that may mean the huge achievement of gaining a first grade in Acting, Public Speaking or Devising.
For other pupils, that might mean developing repertoire, exploring acting techniques or performing in presentation evenings.
Speech and Drama lessons are offered largely outside of the academic timetable, between 4.30pm and 9pm each day. Teachers are expected to plan their own weekly timetables, taking into account the availability of pupils and to record details on the School’s intranet system weekly.
An understanding of LAMDA syllabuses and experience of teaching young people preferably in a similar role is essential.
In return, we can offer:
• Free meals
• Free Nuffield Health Gym membership
• Free car parking
• Cycle to work scheme
• Employee assistance programme
